How to use Enhance PDF
Add your PDF. Drop one PDF onto the upload area or choose it from your device. A before and after preview of the first page appears.
Choose the clean-up. Pick Clean scan for scanned or photographed documents, Sharpen only for photos and slides, or Black & white for text-only pages.
Choose the resolution. Select Good (2×), High (3×) or Max (4×). Higher is sharper but makes a bigger file and takes longer.
Check the preview. Drag the slider to compare before and after, and use the page arrows to check other pages.
Enhance and download. Select Enhance PDF, then Download enhanced PDF. Turn on the searchable text switch first if you want to search and copy the text afterwards.
Limits and privacy
- One PDF at a time, up to 50 MB and up to 100 pages.
- This cleans and sharpens what is already in the file. It cannot add detail that was never captured, so a very blurry page becomes clearer to read, not a different picture.
- Pages are redrawn as images, so the result is usually larger than the original and its text is not selectable unless you turn on searchable text.
- Searchable text uses OCR in English, Spanish, French or German, and the first run downloads the OCR engine and language data.
- Very large pages are capped at 5000 pixels on the long side.
- The file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make a blurry or low-quality PDF clearer?
Add the PDF, choose Clean scan, pick High (3×) and select Enhance PDF. Each page is redrawn at a higher resolution, the paper is whitened and the text is sharpened.
Is this AI upscaling?
No. It uses image processing: higher resolution rendering, background cleanup, contrast and sharpening. It makes existing text and lines easier to read but cannot invent missing detail.
Why is the enhanced PDF bigger than the original?
Each page is saved as a high-resolution image. Black & white mode and a lower resolution give smaller files.
Can I still search or copy the text afterwards?
Yes. Turn on Make the text searchable and copyable before enhancing, and the result gets an invisible text layer from OCR.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Enhancing happens in your browser.
