Fit an image to exact dimensions

Get an image to an exact pixel size, no matter its original proportions. It is the same tool as Resize Image, with the Fit to Dimensions mode already selected.

How to use Fit Image to Exact Dimensions

  1. Add an image. Drop a single image onto the upload area or choose one from your device.

  2. Check the mode. Fit to Dimensions is already selected. It produces an exact output size whatever the original proportions.

  3. Set the size. Type Width (px) and Height (px), or click a preset.

  4. Pick a fit style. Choose Crop to fill to center-crop the image, or Fit within, pad to keep the whole image and fill the leftover space with a Padding color.

  5. Fit and download. Select Fit image to size, then download the result.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get an exact size such as 1200 by 630?

Enter the width and height, then choose Crop to fill or Fit within, pad. The output is always exactly that size.

What is the difference between Crop to fill and Fit within, pad?

Crop to fill center-crops the image so it covers the whole frame. Fit within, pad keeps the whole image and fills the leftover space with the padding color you choose.

Will fitting change the file format?

PNG and WebP images stay in their format. Anything else, including JPEG, is saved as a JPG.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is resized on a canvas in your browser, so the file stays on your device.
